I’ve been with Hospice of the Miami Valley since 2009. After nearly 10 years with the company, disaster struck close to home. I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I was given a good prognosis, but it would come with a high price (my hair, my energy, my immune system and my time). In March 2010 I started treatments, heavy chemo followed by several scans and blood work and a port placement surgery after my second chemo treatment proved that my veins were being destroyed and making them useless. HOMV was so awesome throughout this entire process! They worked with me and my treatments.
Also, throughout my entire 15-month-long chemo treatments and radiation, I could almost set my clock that during treatments, April Reed, CEO and Julie Lambert, HR would contact me to ask, “Are you resting? Are you drinking enough? Are you eating well?” They have no idea how much those texts/calls would make me smile when I desperately needed a reason to, while receiving treatments.
They have continued to work with everyone through this pandemic situation. When I think about how everyone kept in contact with me during my 15-month battle, it just shows the love, support and care that this company has for not just their employees but also to their patients. I would not hesitate to have anyone from this company to come care for me and/or my loved ones. I have seen about 80% of the employees in action and with patient interaction tells me almost 11 years ago I chose the right company to work for. HOMV is a 5 Star Rating in my book!
